Picture this: the sun's just breaking over Lake Travis, the water's still as glass, and you're about to spend the next four hours chasing some of the best bass fishing Texas has to offer. That's exactly what you'll get with this Lake Travis fishing charter. Captain Wyatt knows these waters like the back of his hand, and he's got everything dialed in to put you on fish from the moment you wet your line. Whether you're a seasoned angler looking to learn new techniques or someone who's never held a fishing rod, this trip delivers the goods. You'll be fishing from a top-notch Skeeter boat equipped with killer sonar gear that'll help us locate schools of bass hanging in the deep structure. The best part? Everything's included – premium rods, reels, tackle, and all the local knowledge you need to make this morning count.
Your Lake Travis adventure kicks off early when the bass are most active and the lake traffic is still light. Captain Wyatt runs a tight ship with top-shelf gear that's maintained to perfection – we're talking quality rods, reels, and tackle that can handle whatever Lake Travis throws at you. The trip accommodates up to two anglers, which means you'll get personalized attention and plenty of coaching throughout the morning. We'll hit multiple spots around the lake, from shallow flats where bass are feeding to deeper structure where the big girls like to hang out. Don't worry about bringing anything except sunscreen and a cooler for your catch – everything else is handled. The Skeeter boat is equipped with advanced fish-finding technology that takes the guesswork out of locating schools, and Wyatt's got the local knowledge to read the conditions and adjust tactics on the fly. Whether the fish are hitting topwater baits in the shallows or we need to work deep structure with soft plastics, you'll learn multiple techniques that'll make you a better angler long after the trip ends.
Lake Travis fishing is all about versatility, and that's exactly how we approach each trip. Depending on conditions, time of year, and what the fish are telling us, we might start with topwater action using buzzbaits or poppers to draw explosive surface strikes. When the bass move deeper, we'll switch to soft plastics like Texas-rigged worms or creature baits worked along drop-offs and rocky points. The lake's clear water and varied structure mean we'll also throw crankbaits to cover water quickly and locate active schools. Wyatt's approach is hands-on – he'll show you how to feel the different bottom compositions, recognize when you're getting bit versus hung up, and work each bait with the right cadence to trigger strikes. The boat's sonar setup includes down-imaging technology that paints a clear picture of what's below, whether it's a school of baitfish, submerged timber, or bass holding tight to structure. You'll learn to read the electronics, understand how fish relate to different types of cover, and pick up techniques for working baits in various depths and conditions. It's not just about catching fish today – it's about building skills that'll pay off every time you hit the water.
"We had a really great time! Wyatt was professional and friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend his Bass Tour experience. We made a fun memory and we made dinner last night after filleting the Bass we caught!" - Brandy. "We had a great time on Lake Travis with Captain Wyatt. The weather tried to make the trip miserable, but Wyatt kept us on the fish all day. We learned multiple techniques and caught a variety of species (Largemouth, Guadalupe, and White Bass). Wyatt was very helpful and patient with my family member that was not an experienced angler while helping me learn the nuances of the techniques we used. I plan to book another trip with Wyatt when I am back in the area. I highly recommend Bass Tours ATX and Captain Wyatt." - Glynn Webber. "Wyatt's gear is top shelf. His demeanor is calm and his patience with my grandson was phenomenal. Witnessing my grandson catch his first fish, equally phenomenal. Since this was my (our) first time Bass fishing, Wyatt also schooled us by landing at least ten (10) on his own. Best part, we taught my grandson the meaning of sports fishing by putting them back into the lake. 10/10 from me, and Wyatt will see me again !! Hands-down awesome." - Lamont.
Largemouth Bass are the main attraction on Lake Travis, and for good reason – these Texas giants are known for their aggressive strikes and hard-fighting attitude. The lake's clear water and abundant structure create perfect habitat for largemouth to thrive, with fish commonly running 2-5 pounds and bigger specimens always possible. Spring and fall are prime times when bass move shallow to feed, making them more accessible and willing to hit a variety of baits. Summer finds them deeper on main lake points and humps, while winter concentrates them in creek channels and deeper coves. What makes largemouth so exciting is their unpredictability – one minute you're working a worm slowly along the bottom, the next you're getting hammered by a fish that crushes a topwater bait with explosive force.
Crappie add another dimension to Lake Travis fishing, especially during their spring spawning period when they move into shallow brush and coves. These schooling fish are excellent table fare and provide consistent action when you locate a good group. Lake Travis crappie typically run 10-14 inches, with the clear water producing some beautiful, chunky fish. They're structure-oriented fish that love brush piles, submerged timber, and rocky points, making them perfect targets when bass fishing slows down. The key to crappie success is patience and precision – they have soft mouths and require a gentle touch, but once you dial in the right

Wyatt was relaxed and knows his stuff. He put us on the fish and offered casual instruction periodically to help us better understand how to manage the different bites and bottom conditions. We luckily didn't hang up that often, but when it happened he was calm and just eased over and fixed the issue. We were slaying the large mouth and white bass all morning:) Recommend Highly!

This was an amazing fishing trip. Wyatt put us all on big bass. My advise to everyone, is do what Wyatt says and you will catch fish. Both kids caught big fish, even the dad caught a nice bass. :) All of Wyatts fishing gear, poles, lures, and Skeeter is top notch. He has killer sonar equipment to get right on the big fish. What a small world.....turns out he is the Nephew and cousin of one our Huts long time baseball buddies Ganno and the Az....family.....,wow, couldnt believe that..... Just do exactly what Wyatt says and you will catch the fish. He knows exactly how to fish those areas and the tackle was flawless. I put him to the test with a few knots . bottom line...Ashlyn wins...she caught the biggest bass. She listened !!!! Awesome trip, I will highly recommen and will book Wyatt again..

We had a fantastic morning fishing with Captain Wyatt. We pulled in so many Bass we lost count. They were a very nice size. We even caught 3 at one time. And Captain Wyatt was very willing to make our day perfect, from untangling line to changing up our bait. I would highly recommend him as your fishing guide. Tight lines to you

We had an awesome experience with Bass Tours ATX! Went out with Wyatt for a family fishing trip at Lake Travis with our two young kids (7 & 9) and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Super easy to schedule — we just showed up and everything was ready to go. Wyatt was patient, encouraging, and made it fun for the kids, teaching them how to cast and work the line. We learned a lot of tips and skills from Wyatt. He clearly knows the lake as we caught fish after fish. My 7 YO caught 5 fish and was over the moon. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a fun, stress-free day on the water.

Capt Wyatt was easy going and very patient with my 11 year old grandson. My grandson learned a lot of fishing technique from him. Needless to say, we caught a lot of Largemouth Bass and some Guadalupe’s. Overall a great trip in spite of the cold.

Had a blast this morning with Captain Wyatt. Hit several spots on Lake Travis and pretty much caught some bass on each spot. He was very respectful, friendly and would help with showing you how to fish the bait that your using; as well as he stayed on top of netting each fish that was caught and checking our bait to make sure it was still usable. If you’re ever in West Texas, hit me up. Thank you Wyatt

These speckled beauties are some of the tastiest fish swimming in Lake Travis. Both black and white crappie call this lake home, typically running 7-12 inches and about a pound. They love schooling around submerged brush, boat docks, and creek channels in 10-25 feet of water. Spring spawning season is when they really turn on, moving shallow and getting aggressive. What guests love about crappie fishing is the steady action - where you catch one, there's usually more. They're also hands-down the best eating fish in the lake, with sweet, flaky white meat. Don't expect a big fight, but the numbers make up for it. My go-to technique here is vertical jigging small jigs or minnows right over brush piles. Drop down slow and watch your line - crappie bites are often just a slight tick.

These green giants are what Lake Travis is famous for, and for good reason. Most bass here run 12-24 inches and 1-4 pounds, with plenty of trophy fish lurking in deeper structure. They love hanging around submerged trees, rocky points, and weed lines in 8-20 feet of water. Spring and fall are prime time when they're most active, but summer early mornings can be red hot. What makes largemouth so popular is that legendary fight - they'll jump, run, and give you everything they've got. Plus, they're great eating when cleaned properly. Here's a local trick: when fishing the main lake points, throw a Texas-rigged worm right along the edge where the bottom drops off. That's where the big ones wait to ambush baitfish.

Also called sand bass around here, these silver rockets are pure fun on light tackle. They typically run 10-12 inches and pack a serious punch for their size. White bass travel in schools and love open water areas, main lake points, and river channels. Spring is prime time when they run shallow to spawn, and summer evenings can produce some fast action. What makes them special is their aggressive nature - they'll chase down just about anything that moves and fight way above their weight class. They're also excellent table fare with firm, white meat. When you find a school, the action can be non-stop. Here's my local tip: look for diving birds over deep water - that usually means white bass are pushing baitfish to the surface. Get there fast with small spoons or jigs and you'll have a blast.
