There's nothing quite like the feeling of your line going tight on a Lake Travis morning. I'm Wyatt, and I've been guiding anglers on these crystal-clear Texas waters for years, helping folks of all skill levels hook into some seriously impressive bass. This 4-hour charter is designed for up to 2 guests who want to experience world-class largemouth bass fishing without any of the hassle. I'll handle all the gear, show you the hottest spots, and teach you techniques that'll have you catching fish like a pro. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, we're going to have a blast on the water together.
We'll meet early morning when the fish are most active and the lake is calm. I provide all the premium tackle you'll need - top-shelf rods, reels, and a tackle box full of proven lures that Lake Travis bass can't resist. My Skeeter boat is equipped with advanced sonar that lets us pinpoint schools of fish and underwater structure where the big ones like to hide. This isn't just about dropping a line and hoping for the best - I'll walk you through different techniques like working soft plastics, cranking shallow cover, and reading the electronics. The best part? You don't need to bring anything except sunglasses and a good attitude. I've got everything covered, from the gear to the knowledge of where these fish are holding based on current conditions and seasonal patterns.
Lake Travis has incredible structure - submerged trees, rocky points, and creek channels that hold fish year-round. I'll teach you how to fish each type of cover effectively. We might start with Carolina rigs along deeper structure, then move to topwater action in the shallows if the bite is right. I'm big on teaching proper rod positioning, line management, and how to feel the difference between a bite and bottom contact. My sonar equipment shows us exactly what's down there, and I'll explain what we're seeing so you can start reading the water like a local. The tackle I provide isn't just good - it's the same setup I use when I'm fishing for myself. Quality hooks that won't bend, line that won't break when you hook a monster, and lures that have proven themselves on this lake over thousands of fishing hours.
"We had a really great time! Wyatt was professional and friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend his Bass Tour experience. We made a fun memory and we made dinner last night after filleting the Bass we caught!" - Brandy
"We had a great time on Lake Travis with Captain Wyatt. The weather tried to make the trip miserable, but Wyatt kept us on the fish all day. We learned multiple techniques and caught a variety of species (Largemouth, Guadalupe, and White Bass). Wyatt was very helpful and patient with my family member that was not an experienced angler while helping me learn the nuances of the techniques we used. I plan to book another trip with Wyatt when I am back in the area. I highly recommend Bass Tours ATX and Captain Wyatt." - Glynn Webber
"Wyatt's gear is top shelf. His demeanor is calm and his patience with my grandson was phenomenal. Witnessing my grandson catch his first fish, equally phenomenal. Since this was my (our) first time Bass fishing, Wyatt also schooled us by landing at least ten (10) on his own. Best part, we taught my grandson the meaning of sports fishing by putting them back into the lake. 10/10 from me, and Wyatt will see me again !! Hands-down awesome." - Lamont
Largemouth Bass are the main attraction here, and Lake Travis grows some absolute tanks. These aggressive predators love the lake's abundant structure and can be caught year-round using different techniques. Spring and fall are peak times when they're feeding heavily, but even summer fishing can be outstanding if you know where to look. What makes catching largemouth so addictive is their fighting spirit - they'll jump, run, and do everything possible to throw your hook. I've seen guests who've never held a fishing rod before absolutely light up when they feel that first bass hit. The average fish we catch runs 2-4 pounds, but don't be surprised if we hook into something in the 6-8 pound range. These fish are smart, so I'll teach you how to work your bait with the right cadence and how to set the hook properly when they bite.
Crappie fishing on Lake Travis offers a completely different but equally rewarding experience. These schooling fish are incredibly tasty and fight with surprising strength for their size. They typically hold in deeper water around structure, and once you find a school, you can often catch several in the same spot. Spring is absolutely prime time for crappie as they move shallow for spawning, but they can be caught throughout the year by adjusting your depth and presentation. What's great about targeting crappie is learning the subtle bite detection - they don't slam your bait like a bass, so I'll teach you to watch your line and feel for those light taps. Most crappie we catch are in the 10-14 inch range, perfect for the dinner table.
White Bass provide some of the most action-packed fishing Lake Travis has to offer. When these schooling fish are feeding, you can catch them one after another in fast succession. They're known for their surface-busting feeding frenzies, especially during certain times of the year when shad are abundant. White bass are perfect for anglers who want constant action - they're aggressive, willing biters that will hit a variety of lures. I'll show you how to spot the birds working over feeding schools and position the boat for maximum success. These fish might not be the biggest, but they make up for it in sheer numbers and enthusiasm. They're

Wyatt was relaxed and knows his stuff. He put us on the fish and offered casual instruction periodically to help us better understand how to manage the different bites and bottom conditions. We luckily didn't hang up that often, but when it happened he was calm and just eased over and fixed the issue. We were slaying the large mouth and white bass all morning:) Recommend Highly!

This was an amazing fishing trip. Wyatt put us all on big bass. My advise to everyone, is do what Wyatt says and you will catch fish. Both kids caught big fish, even the dad caught a nice bass. :) All of Wyatts fishing gear, poles, lures, and Skeeter is top notch. He has killer sonar equipment to get right on the big fish. What a small world.....turns out he is the Nephew and cousin of one our Huts long time baseball buddies Ganno and the Az....family.....,wow, couldnt believe that..... Just do exactly what Wyatt says and you will catch the fish. He knows exactly how to fish those areas and the tackle was flawless. I put him to the test with a few knots . bottom line...Ashlyn wins...she caught the biggest bass. She listened !!!! Awesome trip, I will highly recommen and will book Wyatt again..

We had a fantastic morning fishing with Captain Wyatt. We pulled in so many Bass we lost count. They were a very nice size. We even caught 3 at one time. And Captain Wyatt was very willing to make our day perfect, from untangling line to changing up our bait. I would highly recommend him as your fishing guide. Tight lines to you

We had an awesome experience with Bass Tours ATX! Went out with Wyatt for a family fishing trip at Lake Travis with our two young kids (7 & 9) and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Super easy to schedule — we just showed up and everything was ready to go. Wyatt was patient, encouraging, and made it fun for the kids, teaching them how to cast and work the line. We learned a lot of tips and skills from Wyatt. He clearly knows the lake as we caught fish after fish. My 7 YO caught 5 fish and was over the moon. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a fun, stress-free day on the water.

Capt Wyatt was easy going and very patient with my 11 year old grandson. My grandson learned a lot of fishing technique from him. Needless to say, we caught a lot of Largemouth Bass and some Guadalupe’s. Overall a great trip in spite of the cold.

Had a blast this morning with Captain Wyatt. Hit several spots on Lake Travis and pretty much caught some bass on each spot. He was very respectful, friendly and would help with showing you how to fish the bait that your using; as well as he stayed on top of netting each fish that was caught and checking our bait to make sure it was still usable. If you’re ever in West Texas, hit me up. Thank you Wyatt

Travis crappie are perfect for families - they run 8-12 inches and are some of the best eating fish in the lake. You'll find both black and white crappie here, usually schooled up around brush piles, docks, and creek channels in 10-20 feet of water. Spring spawning season is hot, but they bite year-round if you know where to look. These fish aren't big fighters, but they make up for it with their sweet, flaky meat that's tough to beat on the dinner table. They travel in schools, so when you find one, there's usually more nearby. Here's a local tip: use a small jig with a minnow about two feet under a bobber. Work it real slow around those submerged cedar trees in the creek arms - that's where the big slabs hang out.

Lake Travis largemouth bass typically run 12-24 inches and 1-4 pounds, though we see some real bruisers pushing 6+ pounds in the deeper coves. These green machines love hanging around submerged timber, rocky points, and grass beds in 8-25 feet of water. Spring and fall are prime time when they're feeding heavy before and after spawn. What makes them special is that legendary fight - they'll jump, shake their heads, and test your drag like no other freshwater fish. Plus, they taste great if you want to keep a few. My go-to trick here is working a Texas-rigged worm slow along those limestone ledges. The bass here are used to seeing fast-moving lures, so patience pays off big time.

White bass are the perfect action fish when you want steady bites. These silver bullets typically run 10-14 inches and put up a scrappy fight that'll surprise you. They school up in open water and along rocky points, often feeding on shad near the surface. Spring and early summer are peak times, especially when the shad are spawning. What guests love is the consistent action - find a school and you can catch dozens. They're also excellent table fare with firm, white meat. The key here on Travis is watching for birds diving on baitfish. When you see that commotion, get there fast with small spoons or white jigs. Work them quick through the school and hang on - these fish hit hard and fight dirty for their size.
